What do I need to know when buying a new handset?

The phone handset is the everyday interface for your telephone system so having a functional model that you are comfortable with is important. More then that though, many NEC handsets are unique to certain phone systems, meaning if you attempt to connect a handset to the wrong system, it won't work, even if it is from the same manufacturer. To ensure a handset is compatible with your phone system, follow these procedures:

Match photos of handsets in the office to the handsets on our website: A very simple method, if the pictures match, then you have compatibility! You can see the full range of NEC handsets with photos included below.
Match Model Numbers: All telephones have a model number on the back, which you can match to the model numbers that you will see on our list of handsets below.
Call our friendly staff: If you are still not sure, call Plexus on 1300 302 276 and one of our friendly staff will be able to advise you on which handsets are compatible with your current system.

SV8000 Series Handsets - DTL Series-
The brand-new NEC DTL Series of handsets are the latest release in NEC's range of digital telephone handsets. Designed with an obvious eye for customer satisfaction, these handsets have a large, easy to read display screen and a stylish and functional shape. Compatible with the NEC SV8100se, SV8100 and SV8300 phone systems these handsets are hugely popular and as good as any on the market.

Topaz Handsets
The NEC IP2AT series telephones, often referred to as "Topaz" handsets, are unique and only compatible with the NEC Topaz telephone system. Featuring a black handpiece and an aqua green chassis, the IP2AT handsets come in 6 buttons without display screen (IP2AT-6D), 6 buttons with a display screen (IP2AT-6XD) and 12 buttons without a display (IP2AT-12D) and 12 buttons with a display (IP2AT-12XD).
